LJ tells me I haven't updated in 14 months. 14 MONTHS YOU GUYS. That's practically a lifetime in blogging terms.

I'm sorry for being a massive shit. I've missed this place like insanity and the same applies to people I've found through it. I don't know what triggered my taking such a huge break but who cares. Pretty much, I'm back. If anyone actually remembers me and feels the inclination, please add me on my new account (badpseudonym) - I would love to hear from you all.

gayjunglefever and thegreatesthits are going to stay where they are but I felt like starting afresh. (Incidentally this is my seventh LJ in about eight years. Luckily the older, even more appalling ones have been left to disappear into obscurity.)

Wish me luck, flist. LOVE Y'ALL n'tha. :)

So. I haven't been here for a while and I haven't been keeping up with people so much - it's very difficult when your school has installed a security system which literally stops you getting to Livejournal by any means possible. That, and I'm just rubbish, no denying it.

At the moment, I don't think I can explain how I've been, what I've been doing, etc. Maybe soon. For now; tips on how to deal with heartbreak, anyone?

O hai Livejournal, it's my biiiirthday!

Due to the fact that most of my friends - the ones that aren't abroad or at least on the other side of the country - are working, mostly I am celebrating with TV (Neighbours yaye!) and cookie dough icecream. But I wasn't expecting much, so meh; this is kind of an average day but with the bonus of having a legitimate reason to jump up and down on my brother's bed screaming at 8am. I may be going round misbehaveagain's later on, to, er, eat yet more icecream, seemingly. (But also to kick some ass on the new Lara Croft game, aiiight.)

Presents so far:

  • Three William Hartnell era Doctor Who DVDs. My father is so predictable.
  • A set of very profesh. looking watercolor paints, which I have needed for aaaages. ♥
  • A hairdryer! EXCITING.
  • Two more pieces of Butler And Wilson skull jewelry from my lunatic cousin to match the necklace he bought me for Christmas. I am sure he is determined to turn me into a pirate.
  • Pan's Labyrinth and A Scanner Darkly on DVD from my brother, as well as an early morning rendition of Bowie's Pug Nosed Face song on piano, hahaha. The weirdo.

The boy bought me Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind a few weeks ago in advance, following my instructions that he wasn't allowed to get me anything more as I'd been so crap at getting his presents together on time for his 19th. However, due to his lack of comprehension regarding the concept of subtlety, I gathered that he would possibly be mailing something in the time he'd be on holiday. This morning's post though? Nada. And while I hasn't wanted anything additionally, I had been looking forward to something-coming-if-it-was hence why until about midday I was still kind of sadface. But then lulz, doorbell goes and I find myself on the receiving end of thisCollapse ) and a note apologising for having not been here on the day. Oh, ♥

For those of you Top Gear folks wot aren't already enlightened, you may be interested to know that James May is currently on Channel 4, eating cock with Gordon Ramsey. (Titter, titter.)

Yes, that genuinely is all I'm updating with; I am knee-deep in exams and have little time for internets at present, but I still love y'all muchly, yes - I even care enough to come and quickly bother you all with bad puns. UM SO YES. I shall see you sometime after I have to stop revising like a motherbitch for 90% of my day or actually doing these AS Level majigs themselves. Let's hope I am alive at the end of it. ♥

  • Oh my god, is American Idol brilliant. That is a highly embarrassing thing to admit, but allow me to assure you that my adoration stems purely from the joy to be found in the UNDENIABLE LOVE OF RYAN SEACREST AND SIMON COWELL. Man, just make out already plz.

  • Meme time! This one = ace. Comment and I will name you 3 interests from your list, and 3 userpics, and you explain them in your own post, asking the same of your flisters.

My answers, and with visual accompaniments, too! How novel.Collapse )

    Go go go!

  • Best advert EVER, without a doubt.

  • Have an mp3! CocoRosie - Werewolf. I have played this god knows how many times this week; it is amazing, and one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. ♥

ETA: Just remembered I have a question to ask! Not of any relevance to fandom or pretty much anything, but just a random query directed at any filthy bisexualists that might be on my friendslist.Collapse )

  • I keep thinking back to Life On Mars last night and not exactly spoilers, but better safe than sorry.Collapse )

  • This has actually no relevance to anything, but might amuse. A few members of backofthenet's family, who live in Germany, recently came to stay and while over here her mother bought, er, a massive toy bear as a birthday present for her husband. His birthday is actually in the summer, which means this bear is currently living in our hall for the time being, and despite the fact that it looks unbelievably ridiculous, we're rather attached to the thing and have taken to dressing it up in various stupid costumes which change pretty frequently. In the past week it's gone from being a hippie, to a Enid Bylton-esque schoolgirl, to a lovable cockney geezer. What I am TRYING to say by this incredibly long-winded point is that today thanks to me and my brother attacking it in the night, it is now a comrade and a walking (well, sort of) Mighty Boosh joke. Snap!

  • This entry = entirely pointless, yup.

  • Hello! I have been away for a bit dallying around France and hence missed a shocking amount of good telly; last week's Life On Mars, the first episode of the new series of Doctor Who, and, uhm, Desperate Housewives. Ah, the joy of school trips. However, I downloaded the Who this morning to take a gander at, so have some thoughts on that:

Unashamedly shallow comments for the most part; new Who, S301.Collapse )

  • I went to see 300 last night and rather enjoyed it, despite having not been able to stand Sin City. 300 was certainly equally pretentious in its way, but infinitely more watchable. Do they really count as spoilers if it happened in 480BC?Collapse )

  • It's really quite wrong that I rather fancy Christina Aguilera now she's gone all 40s pin-up, isn't it? Oh dear. This really must be remedied.

ETA: Gee golly, it's International Poetry Month or summink, isn't it? My flist is full of Keats, Shakespeare and Eliot, for the most part, so instead of heading down the classics route I bring you Roger McGough's 'Vinegar'.Collapse )

  • First and foremost, Life On Mars. Have been very much pleased with the whole of this seasons so far, except the latest, 2x05, which is why I am so confused that people are hailing it as the "best of series", and such. You what? Spoilers, obviously.Collapse )

  • I think a while ago I mentioned my unbelievably bizarre userpic archive thing to someone lately, likely strangeumbrella. In any case, I recall promising to print-screen it just to demonstrate what an absolute whackjob I am. Which I have done.

That's really not normal, right? I can assure you I am the slobbiest slob to ever slob, and that my college folders/room/dorm/everything - it's all one hell of an unstructured, utterly hopeless mess. And yet for some reason one day I looked at the mass amount of icons I have saved from all over the place (with credit, nevar fear) and thought, HEY, THERE'S AN ENTERTAINING WASTE OF TIME THAT I COULD SPEND WORKING. Hence there tis, in all it's terrifying beauty. How is it so tidy, how? There are also sub-categories, but don't even get me started.

  • Not exactly fandom, but I feel the need to inflict some music on all of you, just because. And I can assure you my taste is usually better, so I'm doubly sorry, but here you have it; Flipsyde - Angel. Yes, I'm aware their name is terrible. And the song is, in fact, complete cheese, from a band that is essentially a weird rap/hip-hop/pop amalgamation. Bear with me, because the tune is ridiculously lovely and oh-so-90s and probably all the more enjoyable if you grew up listening to a certain 'Steal My Sunshine' by Len, and it pretty much makes me smile whenever I hear it, as I hope it will you.

Teeny tiny casting spoiler for the new series of Doctor Who. You all know it, anyway.Collapse )

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Also, I AM NOT DEAD. Big update soon, promise.
